BYOBanana

Run one prompt through several style recipes in the browser, compare the results side by side, and export the keepers with your own Google API key.

Bring your own key. Generate a bunch. Keep the best.

From a local Workbench to a public app

I built the Nano Banana Workbench CLI by adding a local browser UI to an existing Gemini CLI. It let me generate several images, see them together, and pick the one I liked. But using it meant cloning a repo, installing Bun, and starting a local server. That was fine for me. It was not a tool I could send to anyone as a link.

BYOBanana is the same workflow rebuilt as a public web app. Nothing to install, and no BYOBanana account to create.

One prompt, several styles

Enter a prompt, choose a few style recipes, then set the palette, model, and other settings once. BYOBanana generates the images and puts every result side by side. You can compare them immediately and download the keepers, whether you are making an image or a project icon.

Bring your own key

BYOBanana uses BYOK (bring your own key). Cloudflare serves the app as static files. Your browser sends the key, prompt, and any reference images directly to Google's Gemini API, not through a BYOBanana server. Google generates the images and bills the project attached to the key.

By default, the app does not save the key after you leave. If you choose Remember, it is stored as plain text in your browser. Your generation history and image files are also saved in your browser, so you can close the tab and come back later. BYOBanana does not sync or back them up, and clearing the site's browser data removes them.

Open byobanana.com, add a Google API key, and run one prompt through a few style recipes.
