I'm Rareș. For the past decade, I've built software and systems across electric vehicles, payments and risk, blood diagnostics, healthcare operations, and AI. Most recently, I co-founded Contour, a health-tech company acquired by Commure. I studied mechatronics at Waterloo.

These days I'm in New York building developer tools and personal software, and working on a hacker space in Chinatown.

The Price of Senior Care Is Your Phone Number

Referral sites earn at the phone number, so they can't afford to show you prices. Contour Care charged facilities only on a successful move-in, and that pricing is what paid for the honesty.

Ship the Ugly Personal Site

Waiting until my personal site was “good enough” meant I never built one. A template I made for a mentee is why I’d now tell you to ship the plain version first.
